Job description:

Job Purpose:

Operates in the Centre of Expertise Materials (CoE) for Upstream and Downstream business.

CoE (Centre of Expertise for Material Masters) is operating in different specific disciplines. These are: Piping and Valves (P&V), Rotating and Static Equipment (R&S), Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I), Oil & Chemicals (O&C), Wells Equipment (Wells). The key requirement of the Senior Global Standardizer is to manage the availability of fit-for-purpose content (Material Masters) for Materials Catalogue.


Principal Accountabilities:
  • Deliver technical expertise skills and identify an exact or equivalent stock material to OU for urgent needs
  • Leading Commodity Standardizer Network (CSN) for Piping & Valves (P&V) Commodities, steering/advising Material Operation teams in the Shell Business Operation’s Chennai, Manila & Krakow
  • Manage and share knowledge to Piping & Valves Commodity Standardizers, Material Discipline MRD-Analysts and Third-Party Service Providers that will contribute to Top Quartile data
  • Initiate or contribute to Material Master harmonization, standardization and variety control initiatives on local, regional and global level
  • Lead/contribute to improvement projects
  • Train Commodity Standardizers, Material Discipline MRD-Analysts, Material & Service MRD-Analysts on their role and responsibilities
  • Support Ariba Project Technical Team to define rules for maintain and create Material Master and steering on required cleanse activities
  • Deliver technical expertise skills and identify an exact or equivalent stock material to OU for urgent needs
  • Combine the operational work with global initiatives/projects and require all attention and impacts are high
  • Develop the relevant Engineering Commodity Standardizers, Material Discipline MRD-Analysts towards professionals; understanding and performing their role as intended

Requirements:

Skills & Requirements :

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Piping Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Commodity/Discipline, or proven ability to act on this level with experience in disciplines as described above

  • Min. 3 years of experience in Material management, Standardization, Data Quality management preferable

  • English and German language business/technical is required

  • In-depth knowledge of Piping & Valves Engineering Commodities, Equipment, Materials, and their components used in the Oil/Gas Industry

  • Knowledge in discipline of Standards, Standardization, Variety Control & Cataloguing as well as the applicable (local) Law & Regulation for assigned Commodities in region/country. Keep knowledge to the state of the art by self-study and motivation

  • Awareness of Supply Chain, Logistics and industry related activities and processes for the relevant discipline

  • Analytical skills open to different views and opinions

  • Tools: SAP / MS-office

  • Processes: Material MRD-request, RtP, CMCP/CP, related Engineering processes and Global Standard Content processes, AMS, MSC

  • Industry: Oil, Gas and Petro-Chemical Industry
