According to the 2022 ABSL report “Business Services Sector in Poland”, the most popular languages in BPO/SSC sector are as presented in the article below.

Do you speak English?

You better hope you do, as English remains the most widely spoken language in Poland's BPO/SSC industry. It’s also often the unofficial company language, that is to say, most of the following communication takes place in English:

  • Internal mailing (newsletters, job offers, etc.)
  • Software interfaces are often in English only. Those can include many programs required to perform job-related tasks and HR or Education platforms.

With a large pool of proficient (at least B2 level) English speakers, Poland has become a favored destination for customer support, financial services, and IT outsourcing. That is the good news.

The bad news is that nowadays the knowledge of English has become the industry standard, therefore most companies do not offer any additional remuneration for this knowledge.

According to CEE Salary Guide 2023, in the Polish BPO/SSC sector, the average gross pay for an employee speaking only English is as follows:

In conclusion, Poland's BPO/SSC sector is marked by its linguistic versatility, providing an array of language support services. This diversity allows the country to serve a global clientele effectively, making it a prominent player in the outsourcing industry.

That being said, there are significant differences between the earning potential different languages can offer you. English-only speakers will earn the least, people with Spanish or Italian more, German or French speakers – more still, and Dutch and Scandinavian languages will have the greatest positive impact on your bank account.

Apparently, going Dutch pays off in more ways than one.
